After completing many of our own self-audits with new customers, we decided that it would be beneficial for our Company to employ an independent auditor/company that would analyse our working practices and help us to refine our systems and existing HACCPS. I was introduced to Christina a couple of years ago at a networking event and she became an immediate advocate for Alice charity due to her inherent compassion. In March 2017 we opened our People’s Pantry in Newcastle town centre, a flexible food bank to support local, vulnerable families.

We knew that we had an increasing demand for food support but knew nothing about operating a food bank, and the prospect of Environmental Health and Food Hygiene terrified us. So we turned to Christina to support us with our People’s Pantry launch and her coaching, training, guidance and support resulted in the People’s Pantry opening on time, with all the required Environmental Health and Food Hygiene documentation and training completed. When the Pantry was inspected by Environmental Health soon after opening, we were immediately awarded 5 stars.

I cannot stress enough how Christina’s support during this launch helped us. Her training and coaching to the team was always delivered with passion and professionalism, but also always with fun and kindness. Christina immediately understood that our volunteers came from very different backgrounds, and needed a lot of reassurance and patience during their training, which Christina has in buckets. Christina also developed a cleaning program from us that is easy for the team to understand and maintain.

We have since opened a number of toddler groups and always consult her for guidance on the kitchen facilities within the venues that we hire.

We plan to open more People’s Pantry in 2018 and will immediately revert to Christina for her support.
